1942 Kansai Advanced Technical School changes its name to Setsunan Advanced Technical School.
1944 Setsunan Advanced Technical School changes its name to Setsunan Engineering Technical School (closes in 1951).
1947 The corporate name is changes to Setsunan Gakuen.
1949 Setsunan University of Technology is established by upgrading Setsunan Engineering Technical School to a university under the new school system.

1950 The Department of Mechanical Engineering is added to the first and second sections of the Faculty of Engineering.
Osaka Institute of Technology Junior College is established. Departments of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Electricity are launched in the day program (the day program is discontinued in March 1965).
1951 The corporation is reorganized Osaka Institute of Technology Educational Foundation.
1958 The Department of Applied Chemistry is added to the first section of the Faculty of Engineering, Osaka Institute of Technology.
1959 The Department of Electronic Engineering is added to the first section of the Faculty of Engineering.
1960 The Department of Applied Chemistry is added to the second section of the Faculty of Engineering.
1962 The Department of Engineering Management is added to the first and second sections of the Faculty of Engineering. The Department of Electronic Engineering is added to the second section of the Faculty of Engineering. (The Department of Engineering Management changes its name to Department of Management Engineering in 1976.)
1965 Osaka Institute of Technology Graduate School is established. Master's courses are launched in the Graduate School of Engineering (majors in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Applied Chemistry). (The Department of Electrical Engineering changes its name to Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1997.)
1967 In the Graduate School of Engineering, a master's course is added to the major in Engineering Management and a doctoral course to majors in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering (name changes: from Engineering Management to Management Engineering in 1976 and from Electrical Engineering to Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1997).
1977 A doctoral course is added to the major in Applied Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering.
1987 The corporate name is changes to Osaka Technology Setsunan University Educational Foundation.
1991 A doctoral course is added to the major in Industrial Management, Graduate School of Engineering.
1996 The Faculty of Information Science and Technology (Department of Information Processing and Department of Information Systems) is added.
2000 A day and night course system is introduced into the Faculty of Engineering.
A master's course is added to the major in Information Science and Technology, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology.
2002 The Department of Media Science is added to the Faculty of Information Science and Technology and the Department of Information Processing changes its name to the Department of Computer Science. In the Faculty of Engineering, the following departments names are changes: the Department of Civil Engineering to the Department of Civil Engineering and Urban Design; the Department of Electrical Engineering to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering; and the Department of Electronic Engineering to the Department of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineering. A doctoral course is added to the major in Information Science and Technology, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology. The major in Civil Engineering and Urban Design in the Graduate School of Engineering changes its name to the Major in Civil Engineering and Urban Design.
2003 The Faculty of Intellectual Property is launched at Osaka Institute of Technology.
2005 A professional degree course is added to the Graduate School of Intellectual Property (major in Intellectual Property).
2006 The Faculty of Engineering is reorganized: The recruitment of students under the day and night course system is discontinued, and three new Departments of Environmental Engineering, Design and Architecture, and Biomedical Engineering are added. The Department of Management Engineering changes its name to the Department of Technology Management.
2007 The Faculty of Information Science and Technology is reorganized: The Department of Information Networks is added. The Department of Information Science changes its name to the Department of Computer Science
2008 The corporate name is changes to Josho Gakuen Educational Foundation.
2010 The Department of Robotics and that of Biomedical Engineering are added to the Faculty of Engineering. A doctoral course is added to the Major in Design and Architecture, Graduate School of Engineering.
2017 The Faculty of Robotics and Design (Department of Robotics, Department of System Design, Department of Design and Architecture) and the Graduate School of Robotics and Design are established. The Graduate School of Engineering reorganized its doctoral courses into three majors: the Major in Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Design, the Major in Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering and the Major in Applied Chemistry, Environmental and Biomedical Engineering.
