Department of Civil Engineering and Urban Design

Our department cultivates students to be self-directed engineers, designers, planners, and researchers with the professional competence and personal enrichment to serve in the creation, sustainability, and renewal of “urban infrastructure” and “urban spaces” that are in harmony with local society, lifestyles, and the environment.

In this department, students learn the expertise and skills necessary for the planning, design, and construction of urban infrastructure (facilities) that is required for the creation of safe and comfortable cities. They also learn how to design and plan urban spaces that enrich the lives of the people in urban areas.
