From August 19 to 27, an International Project-Based Learning (iPBL) program was held at National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan. The OIT participating students in this program were Department of Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering and Department of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineering. This year, it was conducted by 3 universities including Tongji University, China.
The program was held under the theme of "Bio-Inspired Robotics Competition", 6 mixed teams of students from 3 universities were organized, and they worked on developing robots which mimics movements of animals without using any wheels for their locomotion. On the final day, each team made a presentation about the process of production and the mechanism of their robots. After that, they had an obstacle race and competed for the best lap time. This joint working experience let them deepen their interaction in the multicultural environment and realize the importance of English-language communication and programming skills.
National Taipei University of Technology and Tongji University are both engineering universities and partners with OIT. We will continue to deepen our relationship through iPBL and language training programs.
