On February 9, OIT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Montpellier (France) and Polytech Montpellier (France) to promote academic exchange and cooperation in education and research.

The University of Montpellier (about 41,000 students), founded in 1289, is one of the oldest medieval university groups in Europe, especially the Faculty of Medicine, which is the oldest in Europe, and the Faculty of Law, which also has a long history. It has 8 faculties: Law and Political Science, Economics, Education, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, and Sciences and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities, as well as 7 other institutions and 2 schools.
Polytechnique Montpellier (about 1,400 students) is an engineering school of the University of Montpellier, offering 6 courses in Biological and Food Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Interactive Design, and Water Science and Engineering and 4 apprenticeship courses.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the OIT Faculty of Engineering is going to accept 3 trainees from Polytech Montpellier for two months from April to June to participate in an internship program related to resistance spot welding in Associate Professor Iyota's Joining Engineering Laboratory.
