OIT signed an agreement for academic exchanges and cooperation with the University of Salamanca in Spain, on the 20th of May. This is the first time for OIT to partner with a Spanish university. This agreement is expected to expand academic exchanges and research cooperation between the two institutes.
Reported by newspapers and TV news in Spain, the signing ceremony took place at the University of Salamanca. In attendance were the rector of the University of Salamanca, Dr. Daniel Hernández Ruipérez, and the president of OIT, Dr. Masataka Inoue.
The University of Salamanca is a national university founded in 1218 that has approximately 30,000 students and 1,200 academic staff. It is one of the most longstanding and prestigious in Europe, in addition to the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and Paris.
