On January 19, 2017, Dr. Yu Ji Soo, President of Kookmin University, visited OIT with Dr. Lee Dong-Eun, Vice-President for International Affairs, Dr. Kim Hyeon Wook, Professor of International and Area Studies, and Mr. Kim Taemin, Assistant Manager of International Affairs Division. The purpose of their visitation was to attend the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Kookmin University and OIT.

First, the guests paid a courtesy call on Dr. Yasushi Nishimura, President of OIT, and had a meeting with him and other OIT faculty staff. In the meeting, overviews of both universities were introduced, and ideas for academic cooperation were frankly exchanged.
After the meeting, the ceremony was held and both presidents signed the MOU to develop the cooperative relationship in education and research.

Kookmin University is a private university in Seoul, Republic of Korea, which currently consists of 24,000 students, 700 faculty members, and 300 staff members with 13 colleges and 13 graduate schools.
OIT already had the first collaborative activity with Kookmin University in the form of International Project-Based Learning program (iPBL) in the field of Architecture.
