Through a personnel exchange with Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology(SIIT) of Thammasat University in Thailand, an OIT partner university, a staff member of the School of Manufacturing Systems and Mechanical Engineering(MSME)of SIIT stayed at OIT Omiya Campus for one week from May 8 as an internship to work experience at the International Center and Language Learning Center(LLC).

Every year, SIIT sends three administrative staff members for internship to partner universities overseas. Ms. Chananchida Anantawichain (nickname: Giftfu), who came to OIT, is usually engaged in counseling on course completion, academic studies, and student life, etc. as a secretary at the school of MSME. She applied for this internship program because she wanted to establish a comfortable environment for engineering students to concentrate on their studies.
On the first day, she participated in a free conversation session at LLC during lunch time between native English teachers and participating students, and on the second day, she gave presentation to introduce SIIT and culture of Thailand at both Omiya and Umeda campuses.

The participating students asked her various kind of questions about Thai food, culture, and where she would like to visit in Japan, strengthen the exchanges.

Giftfu-san said, "I want to learn about the work of university staff in Japan and gain new experiences. I would like to introduce Osaka Institute of Technology to Thailand’s students when I return to my home country.
