Master's Program

The Master of Engineering is awarded to students who have spent more than two years at the Graduation School and completed the academic requirements for the Master’s Program, and in addition, are judged to have the following abilities in the course of classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to play a role in developing the sustainable society as a professional in a specific field by working on solving problems which may increase unsustainability that humans are now facing.
  2. An ability to work on solving challenges by enhancing their learning outcomes acquired through undergraduate education and integrating their specialties and adjacent knowledge domains.
  3. An ability to, through their research activities, understand issues in details and solve them, work on solving problems from an ethical point of view by collaborating with others, and explain their outcomes.

Doctoral Program

The Doctor of Engineering is awarded to students who have spent more than three years at the Graduation School and completed the academic requirements for the Doctorial Program, and in addition, are judged to have the following abilities in the course of classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to extract challenges and work on solving them, based on the high level of specialty and research abilities to utilize it.
  2. An ability to explain the details of learning and research to others, by using logical language skills, presentation skills and communication abilities in a foreign language, understand others’ opinions and ideas, and take the leadership.

Architecture

Master's Program

The Master of Engineering in Architecture is awarded to students who are judged to have the following abilities through classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to find rational solutions for developing the sustainable society by extracting architectural challenges from a wide range of social problems and dealing with them from an integrated point of view including viewpoints of neighboring fields.
  2. An ability to acquire and practice techniques and skills for planning, carrying out and maintaining a variety of architectures from a wide range of viewpoints of urban planning.
  3. An ability to acquire architectural ethics and communicative competence as an architectural engineer, and to act accordingly based on the ambition and skills for working in the global world.

Doctoral Program

The Doctor of Engineering in Architecture is awarded to students are judged to have the following abilities in the course of classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to find rational solutions for developing the sustainable society by extracting architectural challenges from a wide range of social problems and dealing with them from an integrated point of view including viewpoints of neighboring fields.
  2. An ability to acquire and practice techniques and skills for planning, carrying out and maintaining a variety of architectures from not only a material viewpoint of urban planning but also a variety of other points of view including sociology and economics.
  3. An ability to acquire architectural ethics, communicative competence and presentation skills as an advanced architectural engineer, and to act accordingly based on the ambition and skills for working in the global world.

Civil Engineering and Urban Design

Master's Program

The Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering and Urban Design is awarded to students who are judged to have the following abilities through classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to behave autonomously as a professional engineer with a sense of self-realization and self-responsibility, recognizing the need for social contributions and the global environmental impact of science and technology, and to propose solutions to problems from a wide range of perspectives.
  2. An ability to acquire a high level of technical knowledge and use various techniques of Civil Engineering and Urban Design, which are necessary for the development and maintenance of infrastructure and the maintenance of the urban environment. In addition, an ability to demonstrate high levels of observation, understanding, consideration and explanation, and to solve problems by utilizing them.
  3. An ability to improve presentation skills and communicative competence as an engineer through research presentations, and to act with an advanced international way of thinking to meet the demands of the global age.

Doctoral Program

The Doctor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and Urban Design is awarded to students are judged to have the following abilities in the course of classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to acquire ethics as an autonomous specialized engineer and researcher with a sense of self-realization and self-responsibility, recognizing the need for social contributions and the global environmental impact of science and technology, and to act accordingly.
  2. An ability to acquire a high level of technical knowledge and creativity concerning Civil Engineering and Urban Design, and to extract challenges and solve them as a specialized engineer and researcher from a wide range of perspectives.
  3. An ability to present their researches to the international society based on an advanced international way of thinking to meet the demands of the global age.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Master's Program

The Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is awarded to students who are judged to have the following abilities through classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to apply a broad understanding of basic theories, complex specialized knowledge, and the latest technological applications in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and to conduct researches and solve problems from a wide perspective based on ethics and comprehensive judgment informed by trends and needs concerning leading-edge technologies.
  2. An ability to collaborate with others, and to engage in communications and presentations that include the use of a foreign language, for accomplishment of technological objectives, with specialized expertise in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Doctoral Program

The Doctor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is awarded to students are judged to have the following abilities in the course of classes and research activities.

  1. An ability to comprehensively analyze trends concerning leading-edge technologies with understanding of integrated technical knowledges in other fields of Engineering as well as Electrical and Electronic Engineering, to independently find research subjects from an original point of view, and to evaluate the outcomes from a universal perspective and sophisticated judgment in accord with social ethics.

The Master of Engineering in Applied Chemistry is awarded to students who have demonstrated the following abilities through classes and research activities:

The Master of Engineering in Robotics and Design is awarded to students enrolling for two years or more, obtaining the required number of credits, and being judged to have the following abilities in the degree course:

  1. Ability to utilize accumulated professional knowledge and skills and act as engineers who intend to become leaders with innovative visions, while creating state-of-the-art technologies for achieving a comfortable life.
  2. Ability to present one’s own ideas by utilizing sophisticated communication and language skills and share common understanding with others, and act as leaders who have innovative visions based on social needs.

Doctoral Program

The Doctor of Engineering in Robotics and Design is awarded to students enrolling for three years or more, obtaining the required number of credits, and being judged to have the following abilities in the degree course:

  1. Ability to utilize accumulated professional knowledge and skills and act as leaders with innovative visions, while creating state-of-the-art technologies for achieving a comfortable life.
  2. Ability to transform society by taking advantage of the results of R&D activities such as identifying social needs and solving the problems.

Graduate School of Information Science and Technology

Master's Program

The Master of Information Science and Technology is awarded to students who are judged to have the following abilities in the course of their study:

  1. Be able to accurately judge and act with ethics and in global perspective, by whom have broad culture, understand the role of the information science to make society more affluent, and realize his/her role as an information engineer.
  2. Master underlying technologies of the information science and high expertise of the information system and be able to approach a solution to the problem and to perform the design and implementation of hardware, software, and the system.
  3. Have presentation skills to convey accurately and logically his/her opinion and results of research, and globally competent communication skills.
  4. Be able to draw a plan and schemes for problem solving by arranging and analyzing information, and to perform independently and continually.

In addition, those who achieve a remarkable result in study and research may shorten their enrollment and complete the master's degree program.

The Doctor of Information Science and Technology is awarded to students who are judged to have the following abilities in the course of their special research:

  1. By working on the advanced problems in the field of information science applying advanced information technologies, be able to achieve new and original research results.
  2. Be able to draw a plan and schemes for problem solving by independently collecting and analyzing necessary information, and to perform independently and continually.
  3. Publish research results as a research paper and be able to introduce them accurately and logically in domestic and international conferences.
