OIT students from Faculty of Information Science and Technology, and Department of Robotics participated in an International Project-Based Learning (iPBL) program hosted by Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology of Thammasat University (SIIT) from August 28 to September 3, 2017. It was the fourth iPBL at SIIT to be jointly conducted by SIIT and Faculty of Information Science and Technology, OIT, but it was the first time for Department of Robotics, OIT to join the program. This year, the number of participating students was 29: 14 from SIIT and 15 from OIT.
The iPBL theme was "Image Processing Project - Color Normalization for Robot Vision". The students were divided into several SIIT-OIT mixed groups, and they engaged in experimentations and discussions to develop computer programs for efficient image processing. Their outcomes were shared with the others in the final presentation session.
SIIT is established in 1992 as a semi-autonomous institute in Thammasat University. Since SIIT and OIT concluded the MOU in 2009, the relationship of the two institutes has been cultivated through student exchanges and iPBL programs.
