Graduate School of Information Science and Technology (Department of Information and Computer Science) has accepted an UMAP exchange Master course student, Mr. Carlos Alan Garcia Campos from the Autonomous University of Baja California in the United Mexican States from September 28th. He will conduct his research on a project regarding "Information coding and decoding in spiking neural networks." for one year under the supervision of Associate Prof. Hirotsugu Okuno at the Neuromorphic Systems Laboratory.

UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific) is a consortium of Higher Education Institutions and partners, collaborating to increase opportunities for study abroad across the Asia Pacific region through a variety of short and long-term in-person and virtual exchange programs.

OIT has joined UMAP since 2014 to provide them with opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills. OIT students are also encouraged to join UMAP and gain valuable experience in research abroad.
