ニュース OIT to Launch Japanese Language Courses for Exchange Students in AY 2026

トピックス トピックス English
Osaka Institute of Technology announces a new Japanese language program to support exchange students in academic and campus life.

Osaka Institute of Technology (OIT) will launch Japanese language courses for exchange students from April 2026 through its International Center (Language Learning Center). The program is designed to help students build practical Japanese skills for communication in laboratories, classrooms, and daily campus life.

The program will offer Beginner and Elementary-Intermediate level classes. The same courses will be offered in both the spring and fall semesters, allowing partner universities to recommend the program to students regardless of their semester of arrival.

The courses are intended to support a wide range of learners. Students who are new to Japanese will be able to develop a foundation for communication with academic supervisors and Japanese students. At the same time, students with prior Japanese study may use the courses to strengthen their language skills and deepen their understanding of Japan in an academic setting.

Classes will be held at the Omiya Campus and scheduled in the morning so that exchange students from all three OIT campuses can attend more easily. OIT is also coordinating with academic supervisors so that students can balance participation in the Japanese courses with their research activities.

For further details of the AY 2026 curriculum, please refer to the syllabus at the URL below.

Program Features:
• Courses will be available in both the spring and fall semesters with the same content.
• Morning scheduling is intended to make participation easier for students across all three campuses.
• The program supports both complete beginners and students who already have some Japanese proficiency.
• The courses are expected to enhance students' academic experience and everyday communication at OIT.

This program is part of OIT's continuing effort to strengthen support for incoming exchange students and to provide partner universities with additional academic and language-learning opportunities for their nominees.
